The Gold Coast CBD has a diverse and rapidly growing annual calendar of events.  The Chinatown Street Markets are held on the first Saturday of every month until November when the Markets break for Christmas and recommence in February with the annual Lunar New Year Celebration. It is the place to celebrate the city’s diversity through culture, design, people and food.

Broadwater Parklands hosts world class sporting events including the Gold Coast Airport Marathon and Queensland Triathlon Series as well as a range of other family, cultural and sporting events.

Urbis grows with the Gold Coast

Urbis is celebrating an important milestone on its journey with the Gold Coast with an expansion to new premises on Marine Parade, Southport.

Director Matthew Schneider who leads the Urbis Gold Coast team said: “Urbis is committed to having a strong and growing local presence. As a city we are taking huge steps forward and at the same time overcoming the familiar growing pains that come with youth. There has never been a more important time for us to bring our city shaping expertise and experience to bear.”

The new premises allows Urbis to soon add urban design and landscape architecture capabilities to our established team of town planners and property economists.

CBD Facade Improvement Project - Round 2

Following a well received and successful first round of the CBD Facade Improvement Program, the CBD Office is excited to announce that Round 2 of the Program has been released.

The CBD Facade Improvement Program is a targeted grant initiative assisting property and business owners to improve their building facades in time for the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games™ and Southport’s 100 year anniversary.

Applications for Round 2 of this Program are  invited from eligible property and business owners in Southport’s highly-visible Central Business District area of Nerang Street, between High Street and Marine Parade and close 29 September 2017.

Invitations open for Davison Lane Improvement Grant

The Gold Coast CBD Program Davison Lane Improvement Grant has been released.

This targeted initiative aims to assist property and business owners improve their buildings adjoining Davison Lane, Southport, in time for the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games, Lunar New Year 2018 and Southport’s 100 Year Anniversary.

Improvement works must external to the building, and could include installing lighting, new or improved signage, murals and artwork, greenery such as planter boxes.

Applications will be received on an ongoing basis until Friday, 27 November 2017, unless otherwise advised.
