Southport is rich in history as it is one of the Gold Coast’s oldest suburbs, later becoming the administrative and commercial centre of the Gold Coast.

Now the bustling CBD for the Gold Coast, Southport’s captivating appeal still remains. Southport is now a shopping, dining, business and residential hub that has numerous unique features as it overlooks the alluring Broadwater and has countless attractions – something for everyone.

Arts and culture is also making a dynamic appearance in the area with a number of unique initiatives featuring in the area .

There are some fantastic new eateries and boutique shops in the area, with Australia Fair shopping centre being a prominent shopping destination in the area.  Australia Fair Metro has recently undergone a make over with exciting new restaurants and shops now open.

Southport also features the Gold Coast’s Chinatown, one of Australia’s first modern Chinatowns that offers something different on the first Saturday of every month when its streets come alive with a range of exciting events such as free films, popup bars, multicultural celebrations and the much loved Chinatown Street Markets.

Southport is easy to get to as it has 7 of the 14 tram stops in its boundaries as well as numerous options for other forms of public transport and plenty of parking.
